Web Applications

Web Applications add a few additional components to the existing client framework.


The FacebookHttpModule class (FacebookMvcModule for ASP.NET MVC) is responsible for initializing the FacebookHttpContext for each request, providing ASP.NET FormsAuthentication functionality based off the Facebook session, and registering any configured Feed templates when the application is first initialized.

Session State in FBML applications

Session state can be approximated in FBML applications by using the Session property of FacebookHttpContext.
